Combustion Opportunities:
Bear Creek University starts September 10. Check the church website (www.bearcreekumc.org) to see if there are any opportunities for you. Even if there is not a class that fits your interests, come fellowship over dinner. Dinner starts at 5:30; classes start at 6:30).
Our regular study starts September 17. Call Karen Hill at the church office (281-463-2330) or respond to this email if you want us to reserve a participant workbook for you.
October 3-5 men’s Retreat at Crier Creek
Pastor Burt will lead the three study sessions from the book “The Adversity Challenge.” Plenty of fellowship, food, bonfire, food, dominoes, food, skeet shooting, food, Frisbee golf, fishing, pickle ball (not food related), music, Sunday morning worship. October 17-18 United Methodist Women’s Bazaar. We have a sign-up sheet for various service opportunities. This is our “return the favor” activity for all the UMW who help with our Golf Tournament.
Friday October 17 Bazaar Set-up (three shifts - 9am -2pm; 2pm-6pm; 6-9pm). The afternoon and evening shifts need the most staffing.
Friday cooking team:
4 men from 4pm-7pm to help prepare brisket and hot dog supper for workers.
2-3 men 7-Midnight to clean up from dinner and man the smoker
Saturday cooking team:
2 men Midnight to 7 AM to watch the smoker and prepare kitchen for days activities
6 men 7AM to 4 PM – Chopping briskets, preparing fajitas, baked potatoes, sausage on a stick, clean-up
Other Saturday needs:
Vendor unloading: 5:30 am-9:30am
Fall Festival Set-up: 8:30am 10:30 am
Fall Festival Clean-up: 3:30pm-4:30 pm
Bazaar clean-up 4-5:30 pm
